Lodge Chief (Elected Position)

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for the adherence to the program and policies of the Lodge.
  • Works closely with the Lodge Advisor, seeking advice and training. He does not wait for his advisor to call, but calls the advisor often.
  • Appoints unelected Lodge Officers and chairmen of the Lodge Operating Committees with the Lodge Advisor’s approval.
  • Reminds Lodge Vice Chiefs to attend meetings.
  • Establishes goals for the lodge including attainment of the Quality Lodge Recognition.
  • Promotes attendance and participation of lodge officers and committee members.
  • Appoints chairmen of the Lodge Operating Committees.
  • Assigns lodge members to appropriate committees.
  • Presides over all LEC meetings.
  • Responsible for overseeing the planning and conducting of lodge activities.
  • Presents a “State of the Lodge” address at the Lodge at the annual banquet.
  • Delegates duties and responsibilities to lodge officers and committee members through positive person servant leadership example.
  • Oversees that Chapter programs give complete support to lodge.
  • Promotes Lodge participation in sectional and national events.
  • Attends Council of Chief meetings.
  • Serves as an example of the ideals of the BSA and the Order of the Arrow.
